With just four months to go until Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters, new images from the film continue to tease fans about the action they can expect from the newest Marvel movie.

Emipre magazine's February cover story about the film included photos showing new looks for characters who have remained largely under wraps until now. Fans see Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) having a conversation with senior S.H.I.E.L.D. official Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford), as well as looking over something that could potentially help in the mission he undertakes with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

Pierce is also featured in another still with Samuel L. Jackson's Captain Nick Fury, and Black Widow can be seen in another image as she runs from a potential threat though the streets of Washington, D.C.

Perhaps the most intriguing images to emerge are ones featuring Brock Rumlow/Crossbones (Frank Grillo), The Falcon (Anthony Mackie), and the titular villain Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).

The photo featuring Mackie's character is one of the first from the film showing the new hero. He can be seen during a battle scene wearing a backpack on his back, one which could potentially deploy the wings which allow his character to take flight when necessary.

Rumlow is featured in a photo that appears to show him in mid-battle. The character he plays a large role in Steve Rogers' death in the comic books, which suggests that he will turn on the character in this movie and could potentially kill him off in either this chapter or next year's Avengers 2.

The new photo of The Winter Soldier features the villain, a former ally of Steve Rogers' back in the old days, as he grasps Captain America's beaten-up shield in his hands.

The comic book story arc that saw Steve Rogers die also saw Bucky pick up the shield and take over the superhero's role.

The new adventures of the Captain America will be "a bit darker and more morally confused" than its predecessor, according to the magazine. Steve Rogers discovers corruption in the state of SHIELD and also deals with the reappearance of his old friend Bucky, who is now brainwashed and transformed into the titular Winter Soldier.
