Though Kerry Washington has kept fans in the dark about whether or not she's expecting a baby, she revealed her pregnancy for the first time at the Golden Globes Sunday night in California.

The 36-year-old Scandal actress debuted her growing baby bump in a beautiful Alexander Wang gown. Walking on the red carpet, Washington showed off her stomach and told E! host Ryan Seacrest that she loved how the dress fit perfectly and hugged her pregnancy curves.

"I feel like he designed it more for this bump. I just feel very blessed, truly extraordinary," she said.

Washington who was nominated for best actress in a Drama series for her role as Olivia Pope on the hit ABC show did not attend the awards show with her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, but he showed up to an after party.

"I have the best date of the night -- my little accessory,"she added.

She did not confirm when the baby is due.

Speaking about her nomination, which she did not win, Washington said she was humbled nonetheless.

"I'm enormously grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press for this honor," she said. "It's humbling to be nominated alongside such great talented and hard-working women whose work inspire me."

Scandal will pick up it's third season in February and was reduced to 22 episodes because of Washington's pregnancy.

In a recent interview with Glamour magazine, Washington explained why she prefers to keep her private life a secret.

"I learned through experience that it doesn't work for me," she said. "I've had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it. But I couldn't just turn around and say, 'I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.' So I just thought, 'Okay, no more.'"
