The preview trailer for True Detective episode 5 features Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) possibly being set up for arrest in the present day.

On Sunday, HBO released a preview of True Detective episode 5, which is titled The Secret Fate of All Life. The trailer features Cohle being told that he has a "shadow" in him, an ominous foreshadowing to his more jaded personality in the present day interrogations.

The present-day interrogators Papania (Tory Kittles) and Gilbough (Michael Potts) try to get Hart (Woody Harrelson) to confess something about Cohle. They explain that Cohle gave Hart "every bit of evidence" based on his cryptic sayings, such as "life is a disease."

Both Hart and Cohle become angry and suspicious with the interrogators, with Cohle walking out of the room entirely.

"You wanna see something? Get a warrant," Cohle warns them.

HBO has also released a brief plot synopsis for True Detective episode 5. The synopsis reveals that Papania and Gilbough find new intelligence in the case, which leads them to confront Hart and Cohle.

Back in 1995, Hart and Cohle celebrate a solved case. The episode is set to air on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. on HBO.

In other True Detective news, episode 4 has received rave reviews from critics, many of which have praised the final six-minute-long take. Nic Pizzolatto, who has written every episode of the series, said that episode 4 is the start of Act Two in True Detective's first season.

True Detective airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
