Macbook Air 2012: Starts Shipping Today - Phil Schiller Announces Specs!

Apple fanatics and developers from over 60 countries came together for the WWDC 2012, which kicked off in San Francisco at 10.a.m. PT today. Specs for the new Macbook Air has been announced by Apple's Phil Schiller.

"Today we'll talk to you about the MacBook line-up... We're so proud of it, the best in the industry," he started. "[The Macbook Air] It revolutionized the notebook, it's a breakthrough. Everyone is trying to copy it, but they find it's not easy. Our customers love them!"

Schill announced the specs for the new Macbook Air which is as follows:

-Latest Ivy Bridge 3rd Gen Core processors, up to 2GHz dual-core i7.
-Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz.
-Up to 8GB 1600MHz memory
-60% faster Graphics
-Up to 512 GB SSD
-720p Facetime camera
-available in 11 and 13 inch

The Macbook Air will have a 2.0 USB Port and 3.0 USB Port, one on each side.

The 11-inch will have a 5 hour battery life and prices will start at $999 for 1.7 GHz dualcore i5 with 4GB RAM and Intel HD Graphics 4000, PLUS  64GB SSD!

The 13-inch will start at $1199 with 1.8GHz dual-core i5, 4GB RAM, and 128GB SSD!

Ivy Bridge processors will be available up to 2.7Ghz quadcore i7. It can be availabe with up to 8GB 1600MHz memory and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M GPU with up to 1GB of memory

All new Macbook Air models will be available for shipping today!
