While there have been constant rumors regarding Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's relationship, the actress could be caught in a love triangle with her ex-boyfriend and the man she allegedly had an affair with.

Director Rupert Sanders, who reportedly had an affair with Kristen Stewart during filming of Snow White and the Huntsman, might still be in love with the actress.

According to Radar Online, Stewart and the director still keep in contact while Sanders may have real feelings for the actress that he can't ignore.

"He fell in love with her a long time ago before he laid a finger on her, and he's finding it difficult to shake," a source reportedly revealed.

"They are still in contact, and incredibly, Rupert is still hoping for a future together," the source added. "But Kristen has come to her senses and doesn't want to damage her image more."

After the alleged affair was revealed, Sanders' wife reportedly filed divorce papers last year where a source apparently said that his family is "wrecked."

In July, 2012, Sanders made a public apology to PEOPLE over the incident.

"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," Sanders said. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."
