The first photo of The Flash (Grant Gustin) in his full body suit has been released, offering a look at what he'll be wearing in the CW pilot.

The photo of The Flash's costume was released Tuesday, with Gustin posting it on his Instagram account. The costume was designed by Colleen Atwood, who has won Oscars for her costume design in Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha and Chicago.

The costume is designed similarly to his look in the DC comic books, with maroon coloring and a gold lightning bolt emblazoned on the chest. There is also the matching headpiece with golden ear wings.

Gustin will be starring as The Flash in a new pilot for the CW.

"We're planning an origin story and we'll see how it goes. We do want to expand on DC Universe, and we felt this is a very organic way to get there," said CW president Mark Pedowitz previously. "He may not come in with superpowers."

The Flash will star Gustin as the titular character/Barry Allen, Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne (based on Professor Zoom), Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow (based on Killer Frost), Candice Patton as Iris West, best friend of Barry, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon (based on Vibe) and Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, the creator of The Flash.

The Flash reportedly exists within the same universe as Arrow, the CW's other success superhero show. Gustin has appeared as Barry Allen in Arrow on multiple occasions.
