Castle show runner Andrew W. Marlowe recently discussed the impending wedding between Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) and what speed bumps might be ahead in the process.

Richard & Beckett Involved In U.S. Attorney Investigation In New Episode?

Marlowe discussed the Castle-Beckett coupling with Give Me My Remote in a report published Friday, teasing that there might be things "coming up" ahead to complicate the wedding.

"What I'll say is we're trying to present a couple who are in the process of planning a wedding, and things get talked about, and things come up as you get close to the date," Marlowe revealed. "We think it would be unfair not to talk about it, not to show it, because it is very much a part of their lives."

He added that viewers will have to wait and see what happens to Castle and Beckett in terms of surprises and roadblocks getting in the way of the wedding process.

"Things certainly can happen along the way, but that doesn't mean the wedding is going to be off," he emphasized. "It doesn't mean the wedding is going to be on. It's just a natural part [of the process.]"

Marlowe also noted that Alexis (Molly C. Quinn) will be showing up more as the focus of season 6 turns to Castle and Beckett's wedding. It is not specifically known when the Castle-Beckett wedding will occur.

Castle season 6 airs Monday at 10 p.m. on ABC.
