Judging by a recent statement made by the spokesman of the University of Iowa, it seems like Hannah is going to ditch Adam and join the Iowa Writers Workshop after all, in the next season of Girls.

As the finale of the third season left us with a bit of cliffhanger, Hannah has gotten admission into the most prestigious writing program there is and can't contain her excitement, but Adam seems to be one thing stopping her. As his career is taking off with Broadway, Hannah realizes the need to focus on her's as well and joining the program seems like the right thing to do.

A recent development seems to hint at her decision. Seems like the producers of the show wanted to shoot the scenes of Hannah at school at the University of Iowa itself, but the university wasn't quite on board. Even one of the writers of the show is an alumna of the workshop.

Tom Moore, a spokesman for the university revealed that they could not allow filming on campus.

"While we are pleased that the Iowa Writers' Workshop is receiving national attention and that our graduate is doing well in her career, our general practice is to not allow filming, due to potential disruption to campus," Moore said.

The director of Iowa City/Coralville Area Conventions & Visitors Bureau, Josh Schamberger, seemed to disappointed by the university's denial to allow filming for such a popular show.

"From a community standpoint, I think would be tremendous for Iowa City to be featured so prominently on a very, very popular show on HBO," he said. "My second thought was, 'Gosh, can you imagine the economic impact of having HBO film crews staying in hotel rooms and bringing a greater awareness of Iowa as the best of the best, especially to a younger audience?'

Seems like the producers will have to drop the idea of authenticity.
