It's pretty clear that the CW show is in dire straits as it was nominated for E! Online's Save One Show tournament last month. But the fans stood in solidarity and the resounding number of votes to save it made it top the list of shows that should be renewed for another season. Jay Ryan, who plays Vincent, and Kristin Kreuk, who plays Catherine, also thanked fans for their support.

But if one would go by business logistics things are looking pretty bleak for the series. According to TV By the Numbers latest report the show is in danger of getting axed. The publication's renew/cancel index indicates that season 2 might be Beauty and the Beast's last.

The show which is currently on a brief hiatus is in its second season, will come back on the air during summer.
