When a beloved TV show ends its run, fans are always understandably upset.

Fans put years of their lives into a show, devoting countless hours to watching their favorite characters in all kinds of situations, and when the moment comes where the curtain is drawn on the show for good, it can leave a large hole in the hearts of fans.

However, several popular shows have produced spin-offs in an attempt to recreate the magic that made the ones before them so loved, and to placate those broken-hearted fans. And while some of these shows have found their own critical successes, others have not-and were often cancelled quickly.

Several big name shows have gone off the air in the past year, including AMC's Breaking Bad and CBS's How I Met Your Mother. However, both networks announced spin-off shows that are slated for future lineups on the networks. Better Call Saul is set to follow the life of lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) from Breaking Bad, while How I Met Your Dad will feature a completely different cast of characters unrelated to the originals, this time putting the focus on a central female character who is telling her kids how she met their father.

While the verdict is still out on whether fans will be able to fall in love with these spin-offs as much as he shows that came before them, some shows had verdicts rendered on them pretty quickly in the past.

Enstars compiled a list of five of the most successful and five of the equally most unsuccessful Spin-off shows in history. Check out the attached photo gallery to find out which ones made the list.
