Bollywood star Ranveer Singh has been rumored to be romantically linked to Deepika Padukone, and the actor exposed the truth of the relationship status and what's truly going on between them.

On Monday, Hindustan Times posted an interview with Singh who was asked about going public with his alleged relationship with Padukone; it turns out that he doesn't have to because there's reportedly nothing going on between them.

"But we aren't seeing each other, so what's there to admit?" the actor said. "We are close friends and I enjoy her company. We grew close over the course of our film and, within the film circle, she is one of my closest friends. There's nothing more to it."

Singh then mentioned that people have the right to assume what they want just as long as it does not create any conflicts with the friendship between Padukone and himself.

"Some people might jump the gun and assume that we are romantically involved, but we are not," Singh said. "As long as they (rumors) have no effect on our relationship, I am okay. And I think the comfort level we share when it comes to getting clicked together is testament to the fact that we have nothing to hide."

The actor reportedly has one thing on his mind and it's not what the media says about his relationships.

"If given a choice between reading an article about me and reading my script, I would go for the latter," Singh said. "My focus is where it should be- on my work."
