Rumor currently has it that Downton Abbey might end up casting one of the biggest movie stars of all time.

Lady Mary Finds New Romance?

According to The Chronicle published on Friday, Oscar winner George Clooney made an appearance on the set of the British drama along with his fiancée, Amal Alamuddin. The actor reportedly showed up at his future wife's home in London where he took her on a romantic trip throughout southeast England, and the Downton Abbey set happened to be one of their stops.

"George took Amal completely by surprise," a source told The Sun.

One Of The Main Actresses Is Leaving The Series?

Clooney apparently told his fiancée to grab clothes before they took a cab to Surrey.

"She thought it was so romantic, she loves how unpredictable he is," the source said. "The set visit to Downton Abbey was the icing on the cake of a crazy few hours."

Joanne Froggart, who plays Anna on the series, recently spoke to LA Times about how her character is going to change starting next season.

"In Season 5, which we're filming now, Anna is even more forthright with her opinions; it's for Mary's own good, purely because she cares about her," Froggart said.

The actress also talked about her character's unforgettable sexual assault incident, and the effect it created.

"It was shocking because it's supposed to be shocking," she said. "This is a shocking event to happen to anybody, and it's a shocking thing to happen to this character, who is a nice person -- and bad things happen to nice people."

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
