Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone isn't giving up on love despite breaking up with Ranbir Kapoor.

"If you're wondering whether the break-up put me off relationships, the answer is no," Padukone said recently. "I'm not cynical about love. The equation with Ranbir is there for all to see in our recent film. There's nothing more to say."

When asked to go more in depth, the Bollywood beauty wouldn't budge on keeping her personal life private, however. "Why is it that only actors are asked about their personal lives during interviews? When it's a sportsperson, a politician or a businessman these questions never crop up. On the sports pages we read about an athlete's professional highs and lows. The entertainment pages are mostly gossip."

Deepika Padukone Looks Back On Ranbir Kapoor Weekend?

Gossip heated up when, in a new ad for Coca Cola, Padukone's famous "RK" tattoo in reference to Kapoor was gone. After her split from Kapoor, Padukone was reportedly getting close to Ranveer Singh. Singh denied any romance with the actress, however.

"But we aren't seeing each other, so what's there to admit?" the actor said. "We are close friends and I enjoy her company. We grew close over the course of our film and, within the film circle, she is one of my closest friends. There's nothing more to it.

"Some people might jump the gun and assume that we are romantically involved, but we are not," Singh continued. "As long as they [rumors] have no effect on our relationship, I am okay. And I think the comfort level we share when it comes to getting clicked together is testament to the fact that we have nothing to hide."

Padukone seems to be focusing on her work, for now. "Male actors are allowed to have a career and a life beyond movies. I want that too and I will," she said. "Some actresses quit to start a family but I am fortunate that today the shelf life of an actress is longer."
