Downton Abbey is reportedly about to finish filming its fifth season with more details released on what's going to happen to Anna after her rape incident.

Thomas Will Have Something To Smile About?

On Wednesday, The Hollywood Reporter posted an interview with Joanna Froggatt, who plays Anna on the series. The actress mentioned that they're "about halfway" into filming and then teased what her character's frightening moment will bring to the show.

"We finish filming at the end of August," Froggatt said. "I haven't seen all of the scripts yet, but nearly all. Some things from season four will carry over into season five. It's not just resolved and they move forward with their lives. They're still struggling to deal with what's happened to Anna. It doesn't simply resolve and disappear."

The actress also talked about how her character's incident led to receiving a letter from a woman who was raped when she was young, but didn't come forward about it.

"She felt nobody would believe her," Froggatt said. "She thanked Julian for writing the storyline and me for the way I played it. She felt for the first time that she wasn't alone after watching Anna's story. If one person felt like that, then I totally stand behind what we did."

She was then asked if Mr. Bates is the one who murdered the rapist to which Froggatt responded, "Well, I couldn't possibly comment on that! But time will tell."

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
