It's a good day for Austin Mahone. The first wave of Teen Choice Award nominations were announced today and of course the singer was nominated in some big categories.

Austin Mahone Says Relationship Rumors Are 'Pretty Funny'

Some of the music categories were revealed for the 2014 TCA's and Mahone was nominated for Choice Male Artist. Mahone is up against Justin Timberlake, Jason Derulo, Pharrell Williams, Pitbull and Ed Sheeran. Mahone collaborated with Pitbull on his single Mmm Yeah recently.

Mahone was also nominated for Choice Male Hottie and Choice Smile. In the coveted Male Hottie category, Mahone is up against heavy hitters Zac Efron, One Direction, Ian Somerhalder, Ryan Gosling and Liam Hemsworth.

Pharrell Williams Calls Austin Mahone 'Super Talented'

The Choice Smile category has male and females celebrities going head-to-head. Mahone is up against pals Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift. He is also in the running against Demi Lovato and Harry Styles. The second wave of nominees will be announced soon, according to the TCA website.

The Teen Choice Awards will be on August 10 on Fox.

Mahone also announced new summer tour dates in Boston and Connecticut due to popular demand. "We just added 2 dates on summer tour!!! Boston & Foxwoods w @TheVampsband @FifthHarmony @ShawnMendes on 8/15 & 8/17!!" Mahone tweeted. This is Mahone's second headlining tour. Before, Mahone also opened for superstar Swift on her Red tour.

"It's been amazing. I've learned so many things from watching her perform and work the crowd," Mahone told Life & Style about Swift. "She's super talented."
