The first official promo trailer for season 3 of Arrow was revealed on July 26 at Comic-Con.

Superman Star To Play The Atom In Third Season Of Arrow

The clip is very exciting as it offers a first good look at a lot of things fans were looking forward to seeing, like new additions to the cast and Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felciity's (Emily Bett-Rickards) first date. Brandon Routh (Batman Returns) who plays Ray Palmer, aka the Atom, will be working with Oliver in the CW series. Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) is back and she will be Oliver's business partner now. There are also the Hong Kong flash backs which show Oliver in longer hair, looking quite different as fans will be taken into his past. A new villain, Werner Zytle, who is the alias of Count Vertigo, played by Peter Stormare (Fargo) was also revealed in the trailer.

The official press release for season 3 of the show was also released earlier this month:

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. He returned home to Starling City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice.

To do this, he creates the persona of the Arrow and allies himself with former military man John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), street brawler Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) and international assassin Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), while keeping his secret from those closest to him including his sister Thea (Willa Holland), who has allied herself with his most deadly enemy. Rivalries and allegiances will shift as Oliver faces his most difficult challenge yet."

The finale of season 2 of Arrow aired on May 14 on the CW.

Season 3 premieres on October 8 on The CW.
