There's been a bit of chatter going on about Simon Pegg landing a part in Star Wars: Episode VII; it also turns out that the actor responded to those reports with some curious details.

J.J. Abrams Has 'Nailed' 'Episode VII?'

On Tuesday, Vulture posted a brief interview with Pegg where they brought up the rumors ever since Benedict Cumberbatch made a comment to MTV News during his appearance at Comic-Con; he mentioned how director J.J. Abrams has a "continuing use" of casting Pegg. So when Pegg was asked about Cumberbatch's comment if he would indeed be in the movie, he gave a vague yet skeptical response.

"Yes, Benedict said something at Comic-Con and on MTV," he said.

One Of The Actors To Do His Own Flips?

Pegg went on about how he doesn't think his face would work for the Episode VII although he didn't exactly say that he would't be in it all.

"Well, J.J. uses me in different roles, and we're good friends," the actor said. "I feel like my face in Star Wars would pop people out of the movie. Look, I love Star Wars, and I don't want people to watch and go, 'Oh, there's Simon Pegg's face.' The film is cleverly cast with these amazing, unknown actors."

Then went he was asked if he would be in the movie, he didn't say yes- but he didn't say no either. Instead, he just gave details on what it was like to go behind the scenes, which still says something.

"It's amazing, and I love Star Wars," Pegg said. "I want to see everything happening. It looks wonderful, and you need to believe those characters."

Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
