Rumors surrounding the "50 Shades of Grey" movie are exploding, and various names are being touted as being lined up to star in the sure to be hit. In the latest rumors it has been suggested that a number of the cast members from "The Vampire Diaries" could be included in the new movie.

Various sources have suggested that Damon and Elena from the popular TV vampire could be chosen as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in "50 Shades of Grey."

The erotic book "50 Shades of Grey" has millions hooked and anxious to see the intimate scenes played out on the big screen.

It has been reported that "Extra" correspondent Renee Bargh caught up with Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and their castmates at last weekend's Comic Con in San Diego, where she managed to ask whether there was any truth in rumors that they could be included in the new movie adaptation.

Somerhalder reportedly said, "I can't imagine Universal doing that, but that would be very interesting."

He has previously said that he is very interested in a role in the movie, and taking on an erotic role would not faze him. He told Ryan Seacrest that if he were to be offered a part in the new hot under the collar movie it would be an "incredible thing."

Nina Dobrev has also been suggested for the "50 Shades of Grey" movie, and fans believe she would fulfill the role fantastically.

"Nina would be perfect in 50 Shades. I hope she's cast. I'd definitely watch her in it," said VampManonTV on Facebook.

So will some of the Vampire Diaries cast make it into the "50 Shades of Grey" movie? Many believe they would do a fantastic job, but as to whether they will in fact be confirmed in any sort of role in the film - only time will tell.
