Nashville has reportedly found itself another new character played by The Tomorrow People and Spy Kids star Alexa Vega.

Actor Records A 'Special' Song For Season 3

On Monday, TV Line confirmed that the actress will be joining the series for a role that sounds like will bring a dramatic storyline; she'll be playing Kiley, Gunnar's high school sweetheart as well as his first love. She will also be a single mother who will try to get her 10-year-old son some stability.

This leaves several questions on how she will all of a sudden make an appearance in Gunnar's life post-high school, and if she'll try to get him back. Considering that Vega has a decent exposure in the television industry, it's doubtful that she'll be on the series for just one episode. Odds are likely, she'll have more relevancy than that.

Can The 'Nashville' Actors Trust The Writers?

This also leaves some speculation if she'll come between Gunnar and Scarlett. Sam Palladio (Gunnar) recently said that these two characters have a strong connection although there's no word if they'll pick up romance again or not.

"I think the two characters have had a deep connection that music is the catalyst of, so no matter what happens in their personal lives, when they come together and sing, that spark gets ignited again," the actor said, published on Metro.

Palladio revealed that he thinks Gunnar and Scarlett will make their way back to each other although it may not necessarily be in a romantic way.

Nashville Season 3 is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 24 on ABC.
