Andi Dorfman Congratulates Chris Soules After Announcement On 'Good Morning America'

ABC (via The Epoch Times) revealed on Monday that Soules has been engaged before, but that it doesn't scare him from looking for love again. "Heartbroken, Chris ended that seven-year relationship just months before he expected to walk down the aisle. Although his relationship with his fiancée was good, he didn't want to settle for 'good.' He wanted 'great,'" a statement read.

"While the humble but enormously successful farmer from tiny Arlington, Iowa (pop. 427) has found it difficult to date, that hasn't stopped him from having faith that one day he will find the perfect woman for him. His experience on The Bachelorette made him realize that love really is out there, and he is confident that he will find it this time on The Bachelor."

How Other Reality Show Contestants Reacted To Chris Soules Becoming The Bachelor

Host Chris Harrison had previously said that Soules is the perfect candidate because he is looking for love on the reality show.

"At the end of the day, Chris is everything the show is based on," Harrison told TV Guide after the Soules announcement was made. "He's that diamond in the rough from middle America who more than ever needs the show to find his wife. It reminds me of Aaron Buerge in Missouri."

Harrison also said that he needed The Bachelor "to expand his horizons," unlike other contestants from bigger towns. "So, it takes us back to where the show began."
