On Friday, ESPN reported that that Texas outside linebacker has returned to practice after he went through an arthroscopic knee operation in September due to a torn meniscus. He was apparently wearing a brace for cameras to see.

The site mentioned that the Texans are going to be playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday where Clowney didn't seem too sure if he would be around for that.

"It's like I said, I'm taking it one day at a time right now," he said. "I've been rehabbing, just trying to get back."

The team's coach Bill O'Brien also didn't seem like he knew how things would go, but he did say that Clowney was making a decent recovery since the surgery.

"He didn't take a ton of reps today, but the ones that he did he seemed to be moving around well," O'Brien said.

The coach also mentioned that whatever happens with Clowney on the team, it's just important that he maintains his health.

"At the end of the day, that's the most important thing," he said. "What's the best thing for the player. So there's a lot of communication between JD and myself and [athletic trainer] Geoff Kaplan. He'll tell us what he can do. He really will. I think he's worked hard to get back to this point."
