From Constantine to Agents of SHIELD, the women of network sci-fi are kicking butt and taking names.

'Constantine' NBC: When Will Spectre Appear? Matt Ryan Teases Introduction Of Jim Corrigan

Zed is the newest member of the comic book TV world, and actress Angelica Celaya  is excited to be a role model for Latina superhero fans. After making her first appearance in last week's "The Darkness Beneath," Zed has clearly shown she can handle whatever bizarre supernatural situation Constantine (Matt Ryan) can throw her way, and she certainly won't be cowed out of doing so.

"I hope the fans really like what I'm portraying as Zed, because I don't know of many Latina women playing a superhero," Celaya told E! https://www.eonline.com/news/594242/spoiler-chat-the-latest-on-the-vampire-diaries-damon-and-elena-plus-scandal-arrow-and-more . "I just really want them to feel represented and I want women out there to feel that they can be more than just a sensitive flower. They can kick ass and hold their own! And even though we're dealing with a very science fiction, comic, supernatural show, within all that there is a powerful woman who stays true to her beliefs and starts carving out her own destiny and I hope women are inspired by her."
