The 2012 London Olympics will go out on a high note, as several highly anticipated musical performances will close out an already successful Games. Iconic English mainstays such as The Who, Spice Girls and the remaining members of Queen will be some of the featured chart toppers to headline the ceremony.

According to the Huffington Post, London organizing Committee Chief Sebastian Coe coined the theme of the closing ceremony with the following three words:

"Party.  Party.  Party," he stressed.

The festivities will have something for everyone, as performances by Muse, George Michael, One Direction and Fatboy Slim amongst others, are also slated to lyrically dominate the world stage.   Extraordinary pyrotechnics and the aid of 3,500 volunteers will also make up in the extravaganza as well.

Brazil, the host of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Games, will have their moment to shine as well with eight minutes of "samba, sequins and Latin cool," sequences, according to the online news site.

The mega event's artistic director Kim Gavin has publically vowed to give mass audiences "the best after-show party that's ever been."

Days before the card was officially announced, details of the celebratory ceremony had unfortunately been leaked. However, many are not doubting the sky-high expectations that have surrounded the upcoming star studded sets since, including the Olympians themselves.

U.S. teen swimming star Missy Franklin had the following to say regarding her anticipation for the ceremony:

"I am so excited.  I think it is the perfect way to end the entire journey," she stated.
