As FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show progresses, there will be a distinct change in one of the Tattler Twins, played by Sarah Paulson.

While Dot has been the more cynical, jaded twin, she will begin to see the world differently starting with Wednesday night's episode of American Horror Story, titled Tupperware Party Massacre.

Paulson discussed the new change in Dot and how she's becoming more like idealistic Bette in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Let's just put it this way: they start to see the world in a similar way," Paulson said, asked about Wednesday night's episode. "And that was a new thing. Dot's voice changes. My way into Dot really involved a darkness and almost a forehead that was just tight, and some of that has changed. Bette's voice is much higher and so open and sweet; to me, that isn't a problem [now] because Bette doesn't have to change. It's Dot who goes through something - who has something happen internally for her."

Paulson admitted that this was strange for her to do as an actress, adding that she asked for more takes while they were filming her scenes. However, that sort of awkward shifting may have been appropriate for the change in Dot, according to the actress.

"I think from a performance level and a psychological level, it's sort of a profound way of thinking about it."

The actress was also asked about the fact that she is the only main cast member on American Horror Story whose characters haven't ever died. She hopes that Freak Show will continue this streak with both Bette and Dot.

"I have hope that they will survive the season only because I love them so much, and the idea of having to film something like that is quite terrifying to me, actually," she said.

She also admitted that because the show is American Horror Story, people do have to die. She really hopes she can keep up her winning streak though.

"Is that going to last? I really don't know. I like the title, though; believe me!"

American Horror Story: Freak Show airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
