The rescue of Ava Jerome's (Maura West) missing baby was something worth celebrating in Port Charles, but the child's safe return won't make anything easier on General Hospital.

Franco & Nina's Plot Comes To An End

Though she was safely rescued from Franco (Roger Howarth) and Nina (Michelle Stafford), who kidnapped her and brought her with them to Canada, Ava wasn't able to connect with her daughter very long before Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) slapped handcuffs on her wrists and carted her off to prison as well for Connie Falconeri.

Now, with the baby's mother in jail, it becomes increasingly more difficult for the test to be done to determine whether her father is Sonny (Maurice Bernard)-who is also in jail for the murder of AJ Quartermaine-or his son, Morgan (Bryan Craig).

Ava's Baby Is Rescued

"Without Ava's consent, I can't run a test," Silas (Michael Easton) tells Morgan and Kiki (Kristen Aldersen) in a preview clip for the Monday, Dec. 15 episode.

Kiki and Morgan will likely seek Ava out to get her consent for the test however, because if Morgan is the father, the baby can have a home with him. But if her father is Sonny, she could wind up in the foster care system as both her parents will be in prison for murder and clearly unable to care for her.

Before she consents however, Ava will still make demands to see her daughter-something that will become much harder to do when the cellmate across from her winds up being none other than Nina-who is still referring to the infant girl as her own child, no matter how delusional it makes her sound.

"I want to see my baby," both Nina and Ava say in unison in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
