Foo Fighters closed out England's Reading Festival on Aug. 26 with a phenomenal two-and-a-half hour set. According to front man Dave Grohl, the Reading performance marked a special occasion because "It's the last show of the tour and it's the last show for a long time."

The popular alternative rock/post-grunge band played a full set of 26 songs, with a wide variety of newbies and old favorites thrown into the mix. The show marked the last leg of a tour in support of Foo Fighter's latest album, "Wasting Light." Early on in the set Grohl announced, "Well, well, well. The fucking Reading festival. You guys realize we've got a lot of songs to play. It's the last show of the tour and it's the last show for a long time.''

Grohl was very reminiscent throughout the entire performance, dedicating the tune "These Days" to his former Nirvana band mates and buddies, Krist Novoselic and the late Kurt Cobain.
Before tearing into Foo Fighters' latest single Grohl stated to the crowd, "I'd like to dedicate this song to a couple of people who couldn't be here tonight. This one's for Krist and this one's for Kurt." Grohl also dedicated the set to recently retired BBC engineer Miti Adhikari.

During the set Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins came up to address the crowd, exclaiming he was thrilled to be onstage with "the greatest musician of this generation," referring to Grohl.

Another highlight of the show occurred when Grohl brought his two daughters - Violet and Harper - up onstage, dedicating the tracks "Walk" and "Monkey Wrench" to each of them respectively.Although many fans were sad to hear the news that Foo Fighters don't plan on continuing to tour following the Reading performance, there are still a few chances to catch the band live this coming month.

According to the Foo Fighters website, Grohl and his cohorts currently have performance dates lined up in September - Rock the Vote in Charlotte on Sept. 5 (during the Democratic National Convention), the Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta on Sept. 21, and finally DeLuna Fest in Pensacola Beach, FL on Sept. 22.
Rumors also have it that the band will headline a free Global Festival performance on the Great Lawn in NYC's Central Park on Sept. 29.
