Jazmine Sullivan has officially returned to music. Just one day after her new album, "Reality Show" hit stores (Jan. 13), the Philadelphia songstress stopped by Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club" to catch up with Charlamagne, DJ Envy and Angela Yee.

Three years ago, after two successful studio albums, several Grammy nods and growing respect in the amongst her peers, Sullivan decided to take a hiatus from the music industry because it was "not fun" for her anymore. But, in her new interview, she finally admitted that she told the hosts that her infamous Tweet was a bit of a lie.

"When I wrote that, I was going through some things so I was just trying to give an excuse without really telling what exactly was going on with my life and that was the thing that I could think of without saying, 'You know what everybody, I'm going through some real sh-t," she admitted.

Most of the details of her past relationship are unknown because Sullivan does not have any hard feelings towards the man who abused her. She believes that he "was a young man" who was "going through some things," and ultimately wishes him the best. With that being said, she is completely aware that he is not the right person for her.

For the first time ever, she disclosed the details of the incident that proved things had gone too far. "I've never told this before but something happened with my ear where he slapped me so hard I couldn't hear," she revealed.

She added, "I was like, 'Oh shoot! I might not be able to sing' and that kind of woke me up... I'm like... 'something that I love to do, I might not be able to do because of this relationship."

Though it took a long time for her to move on, she is single and happier than ever with her new project. "Forever Doesn't Last" and "Masterpiece" are the two songs she wrote about the relationship on the album. For now, she's focusing on her tour, her new album and dating when she has the time.
