The first major winter storm of 2015 is about to hit a large portion of the North East and threatening to cripple millions in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts & several other states.

Winter Storm Juno is threatening to wallop parts of the entire North East and I-95 corridor with what is being described as "historical" amounts of snowfall, with minimum amounts of one foot forecasted in some areas, while NYC and Boston are being threatened with at least two feet of snow. Parts of Long Island and Connecticut are potentially set to receive up to even three feet of snow.

Government officials have taken huge steps to prepare for the storms, and have encouraged many to stay indoors-with travel restrictions being put into place all over the area. New York State is making plans to close the New York State Thruway and other major roadways at 10 p.m., while New York City is planning on also shutting down Metro-North and LIRR service at 11 p.m. Restrictions are also in place in New Jersey and Connecticut.

Those who live in these areas are being encouraged to remain indoors during the storm, which is expected to clear out by late Tuesday night-with schools and several businesses keeping their doors closed in advance. With so much snow being threatened on the area and many expecting to be in their homes for more than 24 hours, the need for some entertainment during the record snowfall is something many will be considering.

Here are 5 ways to wait out the wrath of Winter Storm Juno and #Snowmageddon 2015:

1. Culinary Experiments

Anyone who prepared in advance for the storm hit the stores over the weekend and hopefully stocked up on major provisions, as well as other items. For those who are itching to find a new creative outlet, but often don't have the time to express themselves in such a way-the next few days off from school and/or work might allow for it. So take some of that food you brought from the grocery store and start trying new ways to eat your favorite treats.

2. Grab Your Favorite Bottle of Alcohol and Queue The Netflix Binge-Watching

Have a favorite show you watch on Netflix that you haven't had a lot of time to catch up on? Now is probably the time for you to truly get all settled in and ready to see just what you've been missing for all these shows you love. And to make it even better? A bottle of your alcohol of choice. You definitely won't be the only one.

3. Spend Some Quality Time With Your Family

You know those people you may live with who could look like you but you rarely see because life keeps you so busy ? Well, with school cancelled and most offices also closed now may be the time to get reacquainted (and reconnected with) them. Use the weather as an excuse to spend quality time with either your family, roommates, or anyone else you may live with. Play some games, watch some movies-anything that allows you to get back to being involved with one another again-even if it is only for a few days.

4. Get Caught Up On Your Reading List

What better way to relax and wait out the storm then curling up with some of those books you never have a chance to read? The snowstorm actually makes getting caught up on your reading list a bonus if you can curly up with those books in front of a warm fire.

5. After the Storm passes-Enjoy The Powdery Stuff!

The snow is definitely inconvenient, and absolutely no one is looking forward to shoveling out their driveways and cars once it is done. And while the clean-up is nothing to smile about, after that's all done-remember that there is a lot of white stuff on the ground. Bundle up in your best winter clothes and get outside. Make a snow fort, some snowmen and a few snow angels; Go sledding and have a friendly snowball fight. This stuff always was what made Snow Days fun as a kid-being an adult doesn't mean you can't still enjoy like that.

To everyone in the areas being impacted by this storm, just remember to be prepared and stay safe!
