Fans thought for sure they knew who was posing as Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) on General Hospital, only to find out once again that their theory may have been wrong, which is causing many to wonder just who could be the person behind this long-term plan of deceit and crime.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

The show had been strongly hinting at a case for the long-deceased Bill Eckert, Luke's identical twin cousin, only to potentially toss that theory completely out the window when Bill's corpse was revealed to be sitting in the basement of the Spencer house-meaning Bill could not have been secretly alive all this time and plotting a huge revenge scheme.

So if not Bill, then just who could Fluke really be? Here are six theories for who just may be responsible for this major crime spree and epic scheme of deceit.

1. Fluke isn't a fake at all, and is actually Luke himself.

It wouldn't make sense for Luke Spencer to team up with Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) and plot to kill his entire family and all of his friends. However, the evil Cassadine queen has succeeded in conditioning Jason Morgan/Jake (Billy Miller) into completing her dirty work and then forgetting  what he did. She could have somehow gotten to Luke when he was initially held in Miscavige (its not certain just how long she has been alive, though viewers saw her return in the Fall of 2014) and conditioned Luke into believing he was someone else who was out to destroy everything in his life.

2. Luke's previously unknown older sister, Patty, may have gotten a sex change

Luke's barely mentioned other sister has had her name come up again recently. Being that she has never been a part of the show before, she could suddenly be on now-and underwent a sex change so she could successfully impersonate her brother, and then, for motives unknown, get some revenge on him.

3. Anthony Zaccara Is Back And Ready To Control The Entire Mob

His son, Jonny (Brandon Barash) has recently returned to the Port Charles scene as well, and has been actively trying to unite the three major mob organizations in the city into one major monopoly. Though he doesn't seem to know just who may be impersonating Luke, he could know that it is his father sorting a new look. If so, it would prove he really didn't murder his father-and only helped cover up his going into hiding by pretending to kill him. When Anthony was "killed," Johnny did try for some time to pin the murder on both Luke and Tracy (Jane Elliott), so the Zaccaras could be working on a large plot to become the ultimate mob heads of PC.

4. Faison in a mask wasn't really a diversion

When Faison (Anders Hove) was revealed to be wearing a Luke Spencer mask, many believed he was the real Fluke-but it has since been said that he was a planted diversion, while the real Fluke came back on the scene. But what if he wasn't a diversion, and really is masquerading as Luke again? He did manage to evade going to prison thanks to Helena. He could have ditched Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) on the boat that carried them out of the city and wound up heading back to town to finish what he started.

5. Jerry Jacks Hasn't Been Seen Lately

Jerry Jacks managed to fool Tracy into giving him her shares of ELQ stock under the premise that he would return Luke to her-only to give her Larry instead. Jerry could still be Fluke however, as the last time he was seen by anyone as himself was in Amsterdam, which was also when Fluke was not in Port Charles either. He could have since come back-and could be continuing to pass himself off as Luke.

6. It Could Still Be Bill Eckert

Just because Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) found a corpse in the basement of the Spencer house, doesn't mean it's definitely Bill's. If the worst happened some time ago and Luke was actually killed, it could be him. But if Bill never died (and never had a corpse in his grave to begin with), the one in the Spencer basement could just be another red herring meant to distract the cops as they try to solve the case. If they believe the corpse to be Bill, they will no longer suspect he is actually alive and well-and still fooling everyone.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
