Momoa will play Aquaman in multiple projects coming up in the DC Cinematic Universe, including Batman v Superman, Aquaman and Justice League. The actor recently chatted with Entertainment Weekly about the role and divulged a few details.

"The whole mythology of Aquaman is pretty amazing. There's so many things to tell, and there's a whole backstory that's just amazing. There's a lot of surprises coming. I think, yeah, he's been cast aside. But, um [laughs] times are going to change now, buddy," Momoa said.

'Batman v Superman' Director Zack Snyder Offers First Glimpse Of Aquaman As Twitter Freaks Out

While he and Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder won't be reinventing Aquaman entirely, they do have a very specific vision.

"[Zack's] got a whole idea of what Aquaman should be and I'm really honored to be playing it. I'm excited for the world to see it," he said.

Momoa won't have too much screen time in Batman v Superman, the actor said.

"Well it's Batman and Superman, it's not my movie. It's the first time in history to have them both on the screen together, and I'm just excited to see those two up there," he stated.

Momoa added that there is a plan for the whole Cinematic Universe with everyone and everything being connected, as guided by Snyder's vision, who is directing Justice League as well.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
