It looks like True Detective won't be all nitty-gritty police work this season.

Ray Velcoro's Past Catching Up With Him On 'True Detective'?

Apparently Rachel McAdams will be doing a little upscale mingling as Detective Ani Bezzerides sometime this season on the HBO crime drama.

On Tuesday the Daily Mail shared photos of the actress all glammed up on set. McAdams arrived in a long black dress with a slit down the side, smiling as she walked onto the set in a pair of black heels. Her hair was up in a tight bob and hear ears sparked with a pair of shining earings.

Will Jeff Bridges Star In The 3rd Season Of 'True Detective'?

According to the Daily Mail, Ani has a wealth of personal problems on the show, from gambling to drinking. Her troubled past is in keeping with the program's emphasis on flawed people, with a cast that includes Vince Vaughn as career criminal Frank Semyon and Colin Farrell as Detective Ray Velcoro, a man torn between the criminals who own him and the law which he has promised to uphold. Taylor Kitsch will also star on the show as Officer Paul Woodrugh.

True Detective's second season will consist of eight episodes, all penned by creator Nic Pizzolatto. The pilot will be directed by Fast and Furious alum Justin Lin, though the network has yet to confirm who will be stepping in for the remaining episodes.

Unlike the first installment, which focused on rural Louisiana, the second will follow the death of a corrupt city manager in California.

True Detective will return on HBO for a second season mid-2015.
