Criss, who plays Blaine on Glee, has written an original song called Rise for the next episode of the show. The actor explains in the sneak peek that he had been asked a lot over the years if he would compose an original song for the series.

"Over the past couple of years people have asked me, 'Are you ever going to have one of your songs on the show?' So in the final season it finally came up and it's an honor that they let me do this," Criss says.

Rise is performed in honor of Dalton Academy being burned to the ground, with the lyrics essentially saying that they will rise from the ashes like a phoenix, as Criss puts it.

The sneak peek features a peek into the studio where Laura Dreyfuss (who plays Madison) is recording her vocals on Rise.

"Make sure it's off-key," Criss jokes to her. "Make sure you sound like the Cookie Monster. And then just kind of a mix of that and not being talented. You guys got this!"

Criss says that the Dalton Warblers and the New Directions are singing the song together.

Glee has featured original songs in the past, such as the beloved Loser Like Me anthem, so it will be interesting to see if Rise stacks up to that.

Glee airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
