Zachary Quinto will drop by the NBC series this summer, according to Entertainment Weekly, appearing as one of Bedelia's Du Maurier's (Gillian Anderson) patients.

"SO excited that @ZacharyQuinto is joining us at the table this season!" the Hannibal writers' room announced on Wednesday.

The psychological-thriller only has four more episodes to film for season 3, making it look like Quinto's character will appear following the major episode 8 time jump. Considering Du Maurier no longer sees patients, Quinto may be part of a flashback - perhaps to the deadly moment that led the psychiatrist to enter retirement.

Quinto is far from the only new character entering the storyline this year - Fortunato Cerlino joined the cast as Inspector Pazzi, Joe Anderon as Michael Pitt's Mason Verger replacement, Nina Arianda as Molly Graham, Rutina Wesley as Reba McClane, Richard Armitage as Francis Dolarhyde, and Glenn Fleshler as Cordell.
