Her dramatic presence has sorely been missed since her fall departure on Days of Our Lives, but true to her word, Sami Brady will soon be back in Salem once again!

Bo & Steve Are Coming Back To Salem!

Sami initially exited the canvas after EJ's death, heading for Hollywood with her children in search of a new life after Hollywood producers decided they wanted to make a movie about her life. And though her portrayer, Alison Sweeney did say Sami wouldn't be back in a permanent since, she did promise at the time that she would return for special events-and sure enough, Sami will officially be back for the Days of Our Lives 50th anniversary celebration later this year.

The news of Sweeney's return was confirmed by TV Guide's Michael Logan.

Characters Who Should Return For The Days 50th Anniversary

"Hey @nbcdays Tweeps! I had a VERY encouraging chat with KCorday. LOTS of fan faves returning, big drama, lots of <3. @Ali_Sweeney confirmed!" he tweeted on March 24.

Besides Sami, both Bo (Peter Reckell) and Steve (Stephen Nichols) have also been confirmed to be returning to the show for the 50th anniversary, potentially in storylines that allow them to confront their ex-wives, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso).

But while fans are sure to love the news surrounding the return of their favorites, those who are liking one of the newer characters on the canvas may be disappointed soon, as Melissa Archer's Serena is likely on the outs.

Daytime Confidential reported earlier this month that Archer's character, who has rekindled a romance with Eric (Greg Vaughan) and clashed with Nicole (Arianne Zucker) as she tries to get her hands on her beau's elephant statue, is one whose storyline wasn't really catching on with viewers, despite the fanfare attached to bringing Archer in to the soap. As a result, Archer's role was reportedly axed not long before the soap underwent a change in creative regime with the additions of Dena Higley and Josh Giffith.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
