Slate magazine political reporter and MSNBC contributor Davie Weigel compared President Barack Obama's slow comebacks to Mitt Romney's attacks to a Seinfeld episode.

During the Oct. 3 presidential debate, candidate Romney took a lot of jabs at Obama, but the president did not counter any of his statements at the time.

However, Obama responded to Romney's accusations 14 hours later during a Colorado rally.

To Weigel and other Twitter users, the delayed responses were reminiscent of the Seinfeld episode "The Comeback," which opens with George Costanza eating shrimp cocktail while another character, Reily, looks on, according to Yahoo! News.

The following is a dialogue from the episode's scenes:

Reilly: Hey George, the ocean called. They're running outta shrimp.

(George drives along. He's fuming at Reilly's dig.)

George: (Angry, to himself) The ocean called. Running outta shrimp. Outta shrimp! (A thought occurs) Oh! Yes! That's what I shoulda said! (Frustrated shout) Dammit!

Jerry: 'The ocean called, they're running outta shrimp'?

George: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then, I said to him, 'Oh yeah? Well, the jerk store called, and they're running outta you.'

Jerry: (Smiling) Really? That's great. You said that to him?

George: (Confessing) Well, actually, I thought it up on the way over here.

Jerry: Oh. That's not quite the same

Weigel tweeted, "At speech in Colorado President Obama tells Americans that the jerk store has run out of Mitt Romney."

So what were some of Obama's late comebacks?

In response to Romney's, "I love Big Bird" comment, in which he would explain he would stop federal funding on PBS, Obama told the Colorado rally attendees: "I mean, thank goodness somebody is finally getting tough on Big Bird. It's about time."

As for Romney's taxes and off shore accounts, Obama was mum during the debate. Romney told Obama, "You said you get a deduction for taking a plant overseas. Look, I've been in business for 25 years. I have no idea what you're talking about. I maybe need to get a new accountant."
