The Hulk may yet burst onto the scene in Captain America: Civil War.

'Agents of SHIELD' Season 2: Colbie Smulders To Return, When Will Maria HIll Appear?

The ticking time bomb will have a particularly rough time in The Avengers: Age of Ultron - poor Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) will find transitioning back to his human self is harder than ever - but the Hulk could still choose as side as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans) face off in 2016.

Speaking with Collider, Ruffalo did not rule out the possibility.

"I don't know if I'm in it yet," Ruffalo said. "I don't know. Sometimes these things happen at the last minute in this world. I really don't know where I fit in from here on out, and I'm not sure they do."

Banner wouldn't be the only member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes to throw his hat into the ring for Stark and Rogers' impending dispute. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) are set to appear in the Russo brothers' film, as are several other superheroes that have not (yet) found a place on the MCU's Avengers roster.
