However, she said that acting on a TV show instead of a movie is a "different experience for me. It was intense. We worked together on this for nine months. The first few months I was trying to figure out how it all worked."

Of course, the excessive heat of the Florida Keys probably did not help .

Spacek also talked about her onscreen husband in the show, Sam Shepard, who plays Robert Rayburn.

"We have a 40-year-deep relationship," she said. "That was a wonderful thing to work with somebody [you know] playing husband and wife."

Bloodline co-creator Todd Kessler praised Spacek's energy.

The co-creator said Spacek has a way about her "that makes people respond to her, she is very nurturing and caring. People don't want to disappoint her. They feel the caring and the generosity she offers."

As the matriarch of the family, Spacek will likely return for season 2 of Bloodline. The show was recently reviewed amid high viewership on Netflix and relatively positive critical reviews.

The first season of Bloodline is currently streaming on Netflix.
