Star Trek 3 may have a title, and a new "kick-ass" villain to boot.

The third installment of the Star Trek reboot will go in front of the cameras this June and a Trekie site may have revealed the title of the 2016 film.

"TrekMovie.com has it on good authority that Star Trek Beyond is being used for the title of the new Trek film," the site reported. "What we do know is that the name has been registered with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), a step that typically signifies a title has been settled on for an upcoming movie."

Beyond would make for a good cognomen for the upcoming Star Trek addition, particularly considering writer Simon Pegg's recent announcement that his latest script will take the Enterprise - and Idris Elba's character - beyond the known Trek universe.

"It will be yes," Pegg said when asked if Elba's character will be an entirely new piece of Star Trek lore, according to MTV. "I mean, this is the five-year mission now, we're out there. We don't always have to keep bumping into the same people - it's a massive universe....so we're going to try and reflect that in the movie."
