In the third week of Europa League group action, Liverpool will be hosting Anzhi Makhachkala in Anfield in what should be a fairly matched game. The Reds have had an inconsistent start in both League and European competition as they continue to adapt to the management style of Brendan Rogers. However, Anzhi has been performing extremely well in domestic football: the club is currently on top in both the Russian and European leagues.

Cameroonian standout Anzhi's Samuel Eto'o will play a key role in the Europa matchup. The striker has 333 senior goals in 624 appearances for the football club and country.  While he is the world's highest paid footballer, the star is still considered by many to be one of the most underrated players of his time.

Complimenting Eto'o on the attack will be the big man Ivorian Lacina Traore.  The 6-foot-8-inch fellow Anzhi striker should serve to take the pressure off of the 31-year-old star against a tough opposing defense.

Anzhi will also bring a strong midfield with the likes of Lassana Diarra, Odil Ahmedov and Jucilei, who are all capable of performing at a high tempo in a physical game against Liverpool.

If Liverpool wants to come out on top, they must put a stop to Eto'o and his offense's aggressive attack.  Rodgers will have some big decisions to make on defense for the Liverpool squad.  It's still up in the air on whether he will pair Daniel Agger with Martin Skrtel and Sebastian Coates. The skipper may opt to stay with the struggling Jamie Carragher instead.
