After losing their first game of the NCAA football season, the Florida Gators will look to rebound when they face off against the Missouri Tigers on Saturday.  Working in the Gators favor is the fact that the Tigers have been defeated in eight out of ten matchups where the program was considered a clear-cut underdog in.

Florida kicked off their 2012-2013 campaign with a victory over Bowling Green and then started SEC competition with a 20-17 win against Texas A & M.  The Gators then went on to prevail over Tennessee and Kentucky followed by a huge home win against LSU.  In the weeks following, they also took out Vanderbilt and South Carolina.

However, last week was an unfamiliar story as Florida came up short against Georgia.  The team gave up six turnovers, which included one just a yard away from the end zone.  The Gators were also at the receiving end of a fourth quarter defensive holding call which ultimately led to a Georgia touchdown and a 17-9 loss.

Florida will look to bring more of an offensive balance against Missouri, as the team failed to score a single touchdown against Georgia.  Despite their passing woes as of late, the Gators have still outscored their opponents 193-88 this season.

At the present time, Florida possesses a 7-1 overall record and are 6-1 in SEC play.  The Gators still sit atop the East Division by a half-game over Georgia and are currently ranked No. 7 in the BCS standings.  Since Florida doesn't have the advantage in a tiebreaker scenario with the Bulldogs, a victory on Saturday combined with a Georgia loss within the next two weeks is essential for the Gators to qualify for the SEC championship game.
