Jim Sanduski, President Sharp Electronics Corporation of America, was on hand to demonstrate, and to reveal that they are now shipping their third generation of Ultra HD TVs.

Android TV has received quite the push as of late, with Sony and Philips bringing the platform to their 2015 4K televisions as well. Three of the biggest TV manufacturers putting their faith in the Smart TV platform is a good indication that it's here to stay, and will just improve with each year's lineup.

Sharp will have five Android TV models in all, starting at a 60-inch and running to an 80-inch model, and ranging in price from $2,099.99 up to $6,299.99.

Along with that they have also announced a more affordable series of TVs, the entry-level UB30 series. These UHD TVs include screen sizes from 43-inches to 65-inch, with prices from $799 to $2,399. While they don't run Android TV they are also Smart TVs that come with the HEVC and VP9 decoding to stream Netflix and YouTube in Ultra HD, The 65-inch model also includes local dimming to improve black-level performance. These TVs should be available today in Best Buy, Amazon and more.

So it still seems as if every TV manufacturer is leaning more and more towards 4K, and with Netflix showing up at the event to pledge their support behind the TVs and discuss their commitment towards providing more 4K streams, those left with 1080p sets will be at a loss in the future. The big question is if they're getting affordable enough to entice customers to swap their current tvs for.
