'Wayward Pines' Fox: How Was Ethan & Family Selected For Pines? Chad Hodge Explains
The Fox series is gearing up for an explosive episode 9, and the penultimate episode will begin to pull Pines' disparate treads together. Titled "A Reckoning," the upcoming episode tops the casts' lists of favorites.
"I really wanted to get to this big moment in [episodes] 9 and 10," executive producer M. Night Shyamalan previewed, according Zap2It. "It's what the pieces are moving to, and that happens end of [episode] 8 into 9, in that area."

Showrunner Chad Hodge, meanwhile, doled out a few hints as to what fans can expect of the impending episode, indicating that the story will center on the youngest residents of Wayward Pines.
"I have a very special place in my heart for [episode 9]; I don't want to reveal too much about why," Hodge informed TV Line. "It was directed by Nimród Antal and it's very focused on the First Generation, I'll say that."
The First Generation is a term of Hodges's own creation, a major piece of the show's story that was not included in Blake Crouch's original novels. It is children like Ben who know the truth of the town and will eventually become the ones who run it with full knowledge of what lays beyond the perimeter.
