An upcoming season of CBS's Survivor will actually break the record for most medical evacuations in a season.

'Survivor' Host Jeff Probst Reveals How 'Cambodia' Is Different From Other Returning Player Seasons

Survivor executive producer Mark Burnett recently appeared at The Hollywood Reporter's Emmy roundtable for reality hosts and producers where he revealed a shocking bit of news.

Burnett said that the "last season," (presumably meaning the latest filmed season) had a record number of evacuations.

Will Abi-Maria Turn Into A Hero In 'Survivor: Cambodia'?

"Last season, we had three evacuations, the most ever in a season. It was the humidity, cuts, people getting infected and then trying so hard on the challenges. But we tend to show most things," Burnett said. "As a producer you get worried, but [host] Jeff Probst runs the show, and I know if my phone's ringing at 3 or 4 a.m., it's Jeff and it's not a good phone call."

Noted Survivor spoiler Martin Holmes a.k.a. Redmond of Inside Survivor reported on Burnett's reveal, adding his own information he has learned from behind the scenes. Apparently, there was only one medical evacuation during the show itself, and it was due to heat exhaustion. The other two were evacuated after they were already voted out of the game. The three medevacs were flown back to the U.S. early.

As some fans know, the 32nd season of Survivor, which is what Burnett and Holmes are referring to, was already filmed earlier this year but it will air next spring. Probst and company are currently filming the 31st season to air in the fall. Both were/are filmed in Cambodia, a country known for its extreme heat during the spring and summer.
