Selena in Emergency Room: Gomez Visits ER After Justin Bieber AMAs 2012 Party Date
It's been an eventful weekend for Selena Gomez.
After joining Justin Bieber at his afterparty to celebrate his three wins at the 2012 American Music Awards on Sunday, going out on a girls' night out with Taylor Swift and a disastrous dinner date with Bieber on Friday, Gomez spent early Monday morning in a hospital emergency room.
Gomez reportedly suffered from a sore throat which had bothered her so much that she could not continue her studio recording session prior to her date with Bieber on Sunday.
After the "Spring Breakers" star partied with her on-and-off again beau Bieber to celebrate his triple win at the 2012 AMAs, she went to visit a hospital aftewards.
A source told TMZ that the 20-year-old's stepfather has bronchitis, and because it is contagious and Gomez may have been exposed to it, she took tests for strep throat as a precaution.
Medical personnel didn't diagnose the former Disney star right away as the tests she took takes several days for the results to come back.
Bieber, 18, and Gomez did not look like they just broke up. Gomez held on to the "Boyfriend" singer's arm as they were photographed talking to his mother Pattie Mallette at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles. Bieber wore the same outfit he wore earlier that night to the AMAs while she was dressed more casually. Yahoo reported that they came to the party together and later went back to Gomez's L.A. home.
Jenny McCarthy, who playfully kissed Bieber during the AMAs when he went on stage to receive one of his awards, was also at the party and posted her sighting on Twitter: "My cub @justinbeiber brought his acceptable and beautifully aged beauty Selena to the AMA after party. Guess I'm back on the prowl. Rww!"
Gomez had gotten together with her good friend Taylor Swift on Saturday for a girl's night out. The two went for dinner to Osteria La Buca in Los Angeles and an onlooker told People, "The girls shared an Italian meal and seemed to have the best time. There were a lot of giggles and laughter."
"They looked like great friends and were also in deep conversation throughout the meal. Taylor was very protective of Selena and escorted her to and from the car," the source added.
On Friday, Gomez went to dinner with Bieber in Los Angeles and the night reportedly ended in a bad way.
The couple met up at Yamato restaurant but got into an argument almost immediately, an onlooker told People. They left separately within minutes after arriving and Gomez had looked "visibly mad." TMZ then noted that the "Beauty and a Beat" singer followed Gomez back to her home, but she refused to let him through the gate entrance, forcing him to ultimately leave.
