Ruby Rose was shocked by the overwhelming accepting response she received when entering the set of Netflix's Orange Is the New Black.

'Orange Is the New Black' Star Matt McGorry Talks 'Not Particularly Enjoyable' Fan Response

Rose, who joined Orange Is the New Black in season 3 as inmate Stella Carlin, spoke with Today recently about the warm reception.

"This cast is so ridiculously nice - like, it's spooky," Rose said in the interview (featured below). "You get on set, and everyone wants to give you and hug and a kiss and exchange numbers and go to karaoke and take you for dinner. ... I had a terrible time in high school, and this was what I dreamed of high school being like. This was like my prison high school. It's fantastic!"

Taylor Schilling Admits Internal Struggle Of 'Anxiety And Fear'

Rose's introduction in season 3 caused waves among the fanbase. As she told The Huffington Post recently, several straight females in the show's fanbase have claimed that Rose is making them "turn gay," which was a surprise to her.

"I was not expecting it, to say the least," Rose said. "My manager was like, 'You're like a viral sensation.' And I'm like, 'That sounds like an STD.'"

Rose was introduced in the sixth episode of the season, titled Ching Chong Chang. She made a strong debut on Piper (Taylor Schilling), discussing gender identity, a personal issue to Rose herself.

"I, personally, think that the moments we try to nitpick who can and can't say that they are genderqueer or gender-neutral or trans, or who's gay or who's bi -- who are we to tell other people how they can live their lives and what they can tweet and what they can say?" Rose told The Huffington Post. "It's really none of our business. I think we should let people go and say what they want to."

Orange Is the New Black season 3 is currently available on Netflix, as are the first two seasons.
