Vikings has its eyes trained on Paris, but Wessex will never be far from Ragnar's mind.

'Vikings' Season 4 Spoilers: Is Aslaug Up To No Good? Alyssa Sutherland Updates From Set

The History Channel drama returned to San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, bringing a host of spoilers along as well. Vikings is nearly halfway through filming for it's massive 20-episode season, and the cast was ready to spill on what the gods have in store for the questing Norsemen of Kattegat.

As previously teased by Moe Dunford (Aethelwulf), Wessex and King Ecbert (Linus Roache) will return within the first five episodes of season 4. Ecbert is facinsted by the pagan invaders, but that curiosity didn't keep him from destorying Ragnar's hard won settlement, and it probably won't keep him from unleashing another deadly ruse when his "friends" return.

"He's a fascinating character," series creator Michael Hirst said of Ecbert, according to Entertainment Weekly. "A good foil for Ragnar. There are many things they have in common, which they recognize. They may well, ultimately, get the chance to talk about some of the things they have in common."

One thing the two kings won't have in common, however, is the knowledge that the Queen of Mercia has claimed Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) as the father of her illegitimate child. While Ragnar may be blindsided by this news, Ecbert will have to keep an eye out for Ragnar's particular brand of cunning revenge. Perhaps he should take lessons from Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard).
