Prepare for some exciting drama on the new version of The X-Files as two popular TV stars join the cast.

Is There Going To Be Another 'X-Files' Movie?

On Tuesday, Hollywood Life announced that The Flash star Robbie Amell will be playing an FBI agent on the show. Six Feet Under actress Lauren Ambrose will be playing an agent as well.

There's a good chance that these two might be the miniature versions of Agents Mulder and Scully since Amell and Ambrose strike similar resemblances to David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. But the site pointed out that Amell's character will be Agent Miller, a "smart" and "smooth" man as Ambrose plays a "sharp" and "confident" woman.

The rest of what these two are about to bring to the series remains a mystery, but there is one thing that Amell said:

"I don't know what I'm allowed to say. So let's just say I'm f---ing pumped."

Fans of the former 90's sci-fi drama can expect some familiar faces in the reboot, including Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner and William B. Davis as The Smoking Man. Some guest roles include Kumail Nanjiani, Rhys Darby and Annet Mahendru.

The trailer below shows brief moments of what audiences can expect; odds are likely there will be a lot of nostalgia as the agents are back to work in discovering the truth about other species' coming to Earth.

The new version of The X-Files premieres in January 2016 on FOX.
