This could finally be the year Sarah Paulson wins an Emmy.

Finn Wittrock Admits 'There's Not A Whole Lot Of Good Guys' In 'American Horror Story: Hotel'

Paulson has now been nominated for an Emmy for the fourth year in a row, but she has never taken home a trophy. She is currently nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her critically acclaimed role(s) as conjoined twins Dot and Bette Tattler in FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show. Her co-stars Angela Bassett (who played Desiree Dupree) and Kathy Bates (Ethel Darling) are nominated in the same category.

Her performance earned Paulson a Critics' Choice TV Award earlier this year. Will she have that same success at the Emmys in September?

'American Horror Story: 'Freak Show' Earns Emmy Nominations For Pretty Much Everyone

Paulson was previously nominated for other seasons of American Horror Story. She was nominated for playing Cordelia Foxx in American Horror Story: Coven last year and Lana Winters in American Horror Story: Asylum the year before. And the year before she was nominated for playing Nicolle Wallace in the TV movie Game Change.

Reputable awards predictors Gold Derby have Paulson projected as the frontrunner to win the Emmy. Other nominees in her category include Mo'Nique of HBO's Bessie, Regina King of ABC's American Crime and Zoe Kazan of HBO's Olive Kitteridge. Gold Derby currently has Mo'Nique and Bates as potential spoilers for Paulson.

One thing Paulson has on her side is the American Horror Story Emmy streak. Since American Horror Story has aired, at least one actor or actress has won an Emmy for their performance at each ceremony. Jessica Lange won for Murder House, James Cromwell won for Asylum and Bates and Lange won for Coven.

The Primetime Emmys will be awarded Sunday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.

Meanwhile, Paulson returns for another season of American Horror Story in October on FX.
