Maroney and the president took the photo onThursday, Nov. 15 when the US Olympic women's gymnastics team, nicknamed the "Fierce Five" went to visit the Commander-In-Chief at the White House. "He was the one who brought it up," Maroney told Associated Press Sports. "We were about to leave and he said, 'I want to talk to you one second about the face.' He said, 'I pretty much do that face at least once a day.'"

The 2012 USA Olympic Swim Team made a YouTube clip set to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" Olympic swimmers Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps sing the popular song with their team mates in the pool and on their flight headed to Great Britain for the London Games. "It's no secret that members of the U.S. Olympic swimming team work hard, but there's also a little bit of downtime during training camp," the team says of the video on its website.

The Greek jumper who was expelled from the Olympics for posting a racist remark on Twitter has released an apology statement after the Hellenic Olympic Committee left her in Athens, Greece for the London Games. Triple jumper Voula Papachristou sparked an outcry on social media when she tweeted: "with so many Africans in Greece... at least the West Nile mosquitos will eat homemade food!!!"
