On Aug. 4, the Teen Mom 2 star and her mother, Barbara, are due in court, where they will discuss a potential agreement for 5-year-old Jace, which would allow him to spend more time with his mother.

“We're still both going through the custody battle now," Evans told Wetpaint Entertainment, according to a report on Thursday. "We’re trying to both come up with a solution together so the next time our court date comes up [in August], that we have something to go and tell the judge, ‘Hey we both agreed on this and we talked to our lawyers and we all agree on this,’ so it’s set in stone."

Evans' mother has had full custody of Jace since shortly after his birth, but now that Evans has gotten her life in order, she wants more time with her son, and hopes her mother will allow her to see him more in the future.

As for Evans and Barbara's current relationship, Evans admitted they have their moments, but said her mother is happy with her recent progress in school.

"Right now, we're good," she said. "She's happy that I'm graduating. She's happy that I'm focusing on what I'm doing... That I'm not letting any drama or anything from me and Nathan's perspective... I'm not letting any of that affect what I'm doing right now."
